biography

While enjoying a busy professional singing career performing lead roles with such opera companies as Deutsche Oper Berlin, Baltimore Opera, Teatro Grattacielo, Nashville Opera, Sarasota Opera, Spontini Festivale, Boheme Opera New Jersey, Baltimore Concert Opera, Opera Maryland and others, Francesca found her way into teaching as her own colleagues began asking for lessons.  It was a natural fit after having studied vocal pedagogy for over 20 years with her own vocal mentors, and having had a unique, challenging instrument of her own that she had to build from bottom to top, into a voice that is still hired to this day.  She now teaches privately in Manhattan, Brooklyn, and online.

Francesca completed undergraduate and graduate studies at The Curtis Institute of Music.  She also furthered her musical education as a participant at the Music Academy of the West under Marilyn Horne.  For two years she was a Studio Artist at The Theatre of St. Louis, where she was the winner of the Stanley L. Richman Award.  She was also a Studio Artist with Sarasota Opera and a member of IVAI Tel Aviv and Montreal under Joan Dornemann, where she was the first singer ever to receive a unanimous faculty vote as the Silverman Award recipient.  In March of 2018, she was invited as a visiting Guest Teacher with the Young Artists Studio at Vancouver Opera, where she will be returning to in future seasons.  In the 2017-2018 academic year, Francesca was accepted to the Vocal Department of the Vancouver Academy of Music as Visiting Faculty. Since 2016 she has held master classes and Artist Seminars across the US.  In 2020 and beyond she will be featured as a master teacher in public master class for the Summer Vocal Arts Academy at Brooklyn Music School, Opera In the Rock, and other venues.
